ttt_gunkanjima (w/e u spell it) makes me lag when it rains
blαh2355:
Pretty much what the title says. Is there a way to disable this like in tf2?
Foofoojack:
Same here, the map is just overall laggy for me, not blaming anyone.

I guess it could substitute for my failed ttt map.
The map has a weather cycle from sunny to rainy every 3 minutes all based off particle effects and hdr exposure, color correction, and fog control.
Features:
3d skybox
fake volumetric lighting
leaves (yay)
dynamic rain (toned down to compensate for lag)
rain splashes
sweet hdr control based off lostcost
color correction
fog control
some other stuff

one day i will own a good enough computer to run this at 60fps
jimonions:
there used to be an options in the hl2 engine to disable "weather" effects which is gone now.
Basically any particle effects tagged "weather" in the editor can be toggled on and off clientside.
The only other way to get rid of the particle effects is to remove the .pcf file in your particles folder called jimonions.pcf, or just remove the line from your particles_manifest.
