set your own standards
stop lowering them so that you can say "we graduated 1000 students"
at a certain point it comes down to the teachers.
but when the state says "YOU MUST TEACH ________, ___________, ____________, ___________, and ___________ because its on the test", theres not a whole lot of improvement to be made.

Our public schools are some of the shittiest in the world.
The Teachers in public schools are horrible.
Half my friends don't know what countries are in Europe.
WE NEED HELP.
Students are failing left and right, mostly due to a lack of care towards education.

Sorry man, but from what you are saying, the United States gets a lot of money from California, if they were to stop, the already shitty economy we have right now would be devastated.
There would be more bad effects than good effects.
