So apparently, you're not the only one whose been having problems with youtube.

If its something remotely close to a winsock problem.
The only thing that I could think from my head is to

Get into a command prompt and enter
netsh winsock reset
hit enter
follow that up with a restart.

Just trying to contribute.

I sometimes get this, don't know if it's the same problem.
I just scroll a bit and click to the left and it usually pops up.

Tomcat:
Did you try to clear all FLASH Cache?

Right click on video > Global Settings > Advanced?

I know https works but ya never know what flash is going to do next
