Jail or Death?

So I what I got this thread:
Majority of the community would rather kill a person than have him live in a shitty jail for the rest of his life, because they don't want to pay taxes for them.
Well, First of all, most of the community here doesn't pay taxes...
Second of all, if there were no death sentence any where, you would still be paying for similar amount of taxes because no doubt the government will make up some new bullshit taxes for something else to keep you paying a similar amount.
Also, from what I know, lethal injection isn't all too cheap either, but I'm probably wrong on that.
Anyhow, wtf is the last option?

How can you kill a person and have him in jail?
I don't think it counts if you keep their corpse in jail.

Put the person in jail for 30 years and kill them?

Personally, I think it would make more sense if they just ended their misery and not wait 30 years for what's coming..
