It was originally there for obvious reason but we decided not to use it to make sure people don't vote for themselves and so that people can change their vote without resetting the poll.

Nothing, its just there to troll with.
i was assuming we were just using it so people knew who they could vote for but apparently i was wrong Lol

Let's look at it as the voting system of US (excluding the corrupt stuff lol)
Everybody goes to voting machine to vote who like that candidate but votes don't count = the poll here
People in a special group in the gov't (200 something?) vote for the candidate and actually do count = people posting who they want
Pretty much, Poll = popularity of the majority, Posting = who you actually want in a way...
