Dream Recall
coolzeldad:
So I was wondering, how many of you try or do not try to remember your dreams?
Do you remember them well or poorly?
Which do you remember best or worst and why?
Where are you able or unable to focus on detail?
Was the dream more realistic than not in terms of the senses? ( sight, smell, taste, touch, hearing, anything abnormal? )
Also share a dream that was most interesting, exotic, or strange if you wish. ( I don't care how far you take it but please keep in mind the site rules - just use sense please )
You can answer any of the questions or just leave a story if you want, can also answer in anyway that works for you.
You can provide any other related information not mentioned here as well, even if it seems it might not be so important. Think if the time of the dream had any significance or what had led up to the dream, falling asleep, or waking up could have anything to do with it, etc.
Anyway, maybe we can learn something or gain some insight into dreams or anything else for that matter.
My Dream:
I was in the middle of a normal day. It felt as though a whole day was on my mind, however when attempting to remember any part before this I ended up in a blank, uncomfortable thought process that I sort of shook off and ignored. I proceeded to finish handling the rest of my activities and when I was near to finish them I had begun to realize I was going to miss other deadlines. I became very stressed as everything seemed to pile up. That is when I woke up. The reality of the dream had me thinking that it had actually happened. Realizing it didn't make sense why I would be in bed, I tried to analyze the dream. The actual activities I had been doing lacked any real detail. However, I could remember extensive detail from the thought of missing deadlines for important projects ( that I did have at that time ). My senses were extremely profound, I could feel, had the need to breathe, could see, hear, etc., but nothing out of the norm. I usually try to remember if I had any dreams and as much as I can about them. I believe the most memorable or easiest to recall are dreams with intense emotion - not necessarily involving me. Dreams lacking this usually lack detail, are harder to remember, and last less in memory over time.
inb4 we need to go deeper, please post serious content
jimonions:
The only times I happen to dream which is rarely, I always have bad ones.
It can be a variety of things that make me scared or extremely anxious causing me to always wake up flustered.
They are mostly about missing a deadline for some important thing or becoming the only person in the world who understood himself.
In the worst cases its about everyone that I know dying.
As for trying to remember them, I usually try to remember and make sense of the first types of bad dreams but I always put the second one out of my mind.
I dream't a lot more frequently when I was a small child but not of such horrible things.
The one I remember most and also felt the weirdest was me floating around in a hollow sphere, going around in circles for the whole dream.
Dale Feles:
Me, I dream once per month. It's never a Dream, or a Nightmare, it's like caught up in the middle. Sadly, last time I had a dream was a couple weeks ago, and I probably never remember them. Also, my dreams are mostly about a small detail I see.
eg: I see a small rock on the sidewalk, I might dream about small rocks, or there will be one in my dream.
Deacon:
For some reason, my dreams are of stressful situations.
Home invasions
Physical Battles
or
of other people being hurt.
I also, for reasons I can't explain, seem to predict things with my dreams. (no, i'm not saying im psychic, or this is possible.)
And it is always the subtle, non important parts of the dream. like even a tv show in the background of a conversation in the dream, and that episode comes on later in the night.
Except for one time...
I had a dream where my grandma died. I was not worried at all when i learned this in the dream, i was only worried about my father. In the dream, he committed suicide.
1 day later
my grandma died.
You'll understand my
freaking the fuck out when that happened.
Cable:
