U.S. Predator Drone Kills 2 Allies (Friendly Fire)

On Wednesday, April 6th 2011 two U.S. men were killed by a friendly predator drone that took them for insurgents. Marine Staff Sgt. Jeremy D. Smith and Seaman Benjamin D. Rast were struck by a U.S. Hellfire missile while moving to support a squad of pinned down Marines. Many accidents have happened similar to this, where innocent Afghan and Pakistani civilians were mistaken for enemies – but this was the first case of U.S. vs. U.S. accidental friendly fire, resulting in death. Some say that with the increased number of drones currently being used in the region, the chances of a mistake will rise.

This is very sad indeed, but through time its self, war has its doubtful sources of friendly fire. Thus in time its self, anything can happen in this world we call earth.

This. I see Cheesicle constantly do the "inb4don<insert american prejudice comment here>" thing many times. What's ironic and hypocritical is that you're stereotyping him and assuming he's 100% anti-USA. Even if he is, you're implying he's going to comment on everything that has to do with the USA with some dick-ish remark. Also, Don doesn't even type like that...



On-Topic: This kind of shit is unfortunate and sad, but it shows what happens when we leave a human's job in a robot's control.
