Death's Free FTP

Deathie:
I was just thinking about it, and thought it'd be a nice thing to have.
Really, the purpose could be just to upload commonly played maps and such, or files that members of the community want to upload, like say, a custom skin pack or a map.

I just think it'd be dang useful.

Speedtest for those who are curious: http://www.deathservers.us/test.zip

There are two types of service,

Public
Only you can upload files, but can be viewed by anyone (Great for direct linking)

Private
This is a folder stored in the server itself, only you would be able to see and edit it (Storage)

How much space you're allowed depends on what you plan on doing with it.

If you're a mapper, coder, or someone who is simply working on a major project, you're allocated 2GB's of HDD space

If you simply want someplace to share a zip file, or anything unrelated to a community project, you're allocated 200MB's of HDD space.

If you would like a spot, pm me with this small form

--- Code: ---Username:
Public or Private:
Personal, or project:
--- End code ---

A randomly generated password will be given to you.

If you would like to test out the FTP, a guest account is available to anyone.

Hostname: ftp.deathservers.us (Port 21)
Login: anonymous@deathservers.us
password: (Blank)

You can read and write in the /incoming/ folder.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

File Transfer Protocol

Basically, a online harddrive that we all have access too.

Unlike public resources, you won't have to deal with wait times or advertisements.

It'd be our own private mediafire.

Carp:
whats wrong with mediafire :o?

Supertoaster:
Can thank me for the idea. :sofullofhimself:
