Mirror's Edge 2 Cancelled

--- Quote ---Innovation is a precarious proposition; at times rewarded handsomely and at others dispelled without a second thought. This is one of those ‘others’ situations. According to reports surfacing today, EA has stopped development on Mirror’s Edge 2.
The publisher was shown a working prototype by DICE and subsequently declined to move forward with the sequel. The dev team that had been working on the Mirror’s Edge follow up has now been shifted to other projects.
Late last year, EA boss Frank Gibeau commented on the lackluster reception garnered by the original game: “There were issues with the learning curve, the difficulty, the narrative, and then there was no multiplayer either.”
So how does this news break for YOU? Was Mirror’s Edge 2 a sequel that could have properly executed the unique (but admittedly flawed) first attempt or a pointless follow up to a game that never lived up to its potential? Hit us back in the comments and tell us which and why!

I reary sad bro.
Mirror's Edge was one of my favorite games.
--- Quote ---I think the situation with ME is pretty simple. EA tried to do something different and innovative, and the mainstream market responded with "NO THANKS, WE'D RATHER HAVE YET ANOTHER WWII FPS". Activision sells X million units of COD WAW, while ME races to $19.99 and still can't sell at that price. Why continue at that point?Let this be a lesson to all about why publishers keep pumping out the same shit every year; BECAUSE IT SELLS. Only hardcore gamers want innovation, and they are a much smaller market.

We need a publisher who will let devs develop a game if THEY(The devs) want to, NOT the publishers :l
