TTT reasonable rdm (defence) karma reduction

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to reduce karma loss in TTT if someone shot you first. For example, I was playing last night with 500 or so karma (I did RDm one guy before) when a guy named Buzzkill1 shot me to 8 health and another guy to wounded. I'm absolutely sure of this. Then, he stays near the fringes of the group with a shotty. I make a salad of his head. Then it turns out the douche was innocent. He left right away.
Should I really be reduced to 8 karma for this? Can't we implement a damage tracker for these problems?

Last i checked there already is one... if you flat out kill guy -400 K, if the guy shot you first -200k...
