Honestly I prefer the old versions too, but the new ones often add great additions to the gameplay.
Most new Pokemon look stupid, but eventually you even get over that.
And HeartGold/SoulSilver were just amazing, I came shitloads of nostalgia while playing them.
Then again, I was always a pokemon fanboy and will always be ...
