I like to use grades and school as an analogy to a building; Without a proper, stong base, the building will collaspe. If he doesnt have a strong base in school in grade 8, his later years in school will be extremely difficult to pass and succeed.

I'll agree but my point is that school really doesn't mean anything until grade 9 all grades levels before that are not required for grade 9 grades 1 - 8 are just to hold your kids there durning the day pretty much.. thats why only parents have the option to allow their kids to pass or fail... Teachers can make recommendation if they should pass/fail but the parent has full control over it but once you hit grade 9 which is a require level of education the teacher then has control rather the student pass's or fails.

So if you're like grade 8 drop out you're considered to have no education level what so ever.

Im not talking just about grades, im talking about why he got those grades, because he doesnt know the materials.

Well i was just talking about grade, but either or its still his responsibility to inform the teacher that he doesn't understand so the teacher can provide extra help if needed.
