I got it, the left side has a thin green verticle wall protruding out of the left side and the camera is angled in a way that it is exactly over the hole in the middle causing us to think its a block when looking to the left, but a hole when from the right

The hole in the middle is a trapezoid so we look at it at an angle to make it seem retangular

On the left side, the tetris shaped peice is actually a thin peice of green paper covered over the middle indent, and the camera is angled so that the corners of the top part of the shape are in line with the trapezoidical indent in the block.
