So I am now starting to notice that whenever I play low end games such as gmod or half life 2 sometimes my fps drops which is really interesting to me also I can start to see some artifacts in gmod when looking in the grass and such is it because I did not delete my old graphics cards drivers? or is my gpu just acting up and it's a Hd 7870 ghz edition GDDR 5

Sounds like it might be overheating.
To be safe, you should re-install your graphics drivers.
Make sure there's good airflow in your computer case.

Impossible it is not overheating at all I even popped out the side of my case for better air flow in my computer so that's not the case (no pun intended)

What I always do to increase air flow is get my box fan and put it parallel to the computer case where I took the side off.

Check if your graphics card has accumulated dust within it, what do you have for your GPU?
