I just don't see why people bother buying consoles. Its just a waste of money and with that money I think you could afford like a high end graphics card. Or save up and you could get a gaming PC! So stop wasting money on Consoles ( apart from PS3 and Xbox 360) and get a good PC

You do realize consoles come out like every like 7 years?
Most people buy it 2/3 years after it comes out.(for price drops and a lot of games to be already on the console) so most people get at least 4 or 5 years out of the console (though because people wait another 2 years or whatever for the next console some could argue 7 or whatever years.)
The PS3 came out in 06(360 in 05.) so 7 years later isn't really out of the blue.
Some people think the wait is too long for new consoles and want it after 5 years.
I'd say it's fine how often they come out. Hell at least they aren't like phones that get a new model every year and are the same price and sometimes more than the price of a console.

Apparently, this showcase was more meant to show off the non-gaming capabilities of it. They will probably focus on the gaming part at E3.
