When I open steam I get this lovely message.

There are no processes relevant to steam whatsoever, Tried removing it from startup, reinstalled steam completely. And yes I have restarted.
What do.

Apperently it was Avast! causing steam to fail, I now hate avast.

go to steam folder and rename steam.exe to steam1.exe, and run steam1.exe
