Infinimint:
--- Quote from: TaNkBuStErS on August 29, 2013, 03:51:20 PM ---I think mine just isn't a good one, but I have it on stock cooler and stock mobo settings. BF3 pushes my i5(ivy) to around 100. I should probably also dust it out... it's been a couple months.... :-\

That's the issue right there. The stock cooler that Intel provides is absolutely terrible. If you've got a few bucks to spare, I highly recommend picking up either a Hyper 212+ (I have this one and it's awesome) or a Hyper 212 EVO (the newer version), it'll keep your system wayyy cooler than stock (30-50C), just be sure to apply your thermal paste properly (you only need a tiny bit more than a grain of rice in size) and you should be good to go. Also, you should probably pick up some cans of compressed air for the dust, or if you have the time, take all of your components and electronics out of your case and hose it down or at least spray it down with some Windex.

I plan on getting liquid cooling in Novemberish... Parents probably will only allow for a closed cpu loop though...

My computer is always like 58~ C on idle.. is that normal? I even have a good fan too. When I switched from stock to hyper evo fan(months ago), idle stayed the same pretty much... though it's a lot cooler during games.
--- Quote from: Jhon on August 27, 2013, 11:59:28 AM ---Lol, because 2 780 are 2x the power of one Titan =P
Plus I don't need 6GB Vram or its other non-gaming capabilities and it's not worth the maximum 5% performance increase for nearly double the price lol.

Double the price? Two 780s are more expensive than a titan. lol

Yeah, but one titan costs nearly double the price of one 780 and only about 5% stronger, not worth it =P
And 58C on idle isn't so good, unless you have a serious OC.

But two 780s are 1300$ and a titan is 1000$?
Also doesn't using two graphics cards make it hotter/use more power on the system, and it doesn't really have double the power of just one more like 1.5 the power? I hear going double quite often isn't worth it.
