While it is kind of interesting, you also have to keep in mind that 95% of the worlds ocean hasn't been explored.

The deepest we've explored has always turned up some really freaky shit, like the two creatures in the below spoiler.

yeah, its not really that hard to imagine there is some super-massive cloverfield shit living under the water tbh.
