Peformance wise, they are about the same because Sandy can overclock higher, but Ivy has more performance per clock speed.

I don't really plan on overclocking, if I do, I may go to the 3570k.

i don't think ocing is really worth it.

i have a caviar green from 2008 and it still works fine.

however, i had some problems in the past and i had to reinstall windows but not sure if it was a memory problem or a hdd problem.
