laptop gfx card replacement
(1/1)
Foofoojack:
okay, so don't make fun of me - I dont know shit squat about graphics cards and stuff like that, like comparisons
so my Dell Inspiron 15-N5040 has an okay graphics card, im not really which one it has but it says "intel CORE i3"
which one would be a good one for me?
I'm sure there's a few of you out there who are good with this stuff
Cake Faice:
Uh, that's the processor. The Intel Core i3. And with laptops, you can't really change anything with the graphics cards. Heck, they're not even cards. They're just called GPU's or onboard graphics cards. But that shit is permanent with the laptop basically.
coolzeldad:
Usually gfx cards are soldered to the laptop motherboard.. however some brands claim to have upgradable ones.. although its limited anyway
I believe in your lappy, the cpu is the intel i3-390M: http://ark.intel.com/products/52955/Intel-Core-i3-390M-Processor-%283M-Cache-2_66-GHz%29
This provides the integrated graphics support for your lappy.. aka the graphics unit is embedded within the main processing unit.
Unfortunately I don't think this is upgradable with this laptop.

Many laptops are not upgradeable
by many
pretty much all
only certain gaming laptops
