define "successful relationship". How does one become successful in a relationship?
Is it defined as having a healthy break up = successful?
or marriage = successful?
being happy 24/7 with your partner = successful?
because in my experience, it's trial and error.

If it's #1, then it's 6 out of 17.
If it's #2, then it's none.
If it's #3, then it's 9 out of 17. Maybe 10, I don't know how to feel about some of them.

It's still a relationship that holds to the key concepts of any other. Why you feel that needs to be pointed out when it's already been addressed is beyond me.

I can only presume you're talking about young relationships because obviously there's a shit ton of married couples out there. If that's the case though I get your point it's not entirely true. My brother (age 26) and his fiance (age 25) met in 5th grade and started dating in 6th, sure they've had their fair share of ups and downs, time apart, etc. But after 15 years a relationship that started in middle school is becoming a lifetime commitment, so no matter how unlikely it may seem, they're living proof it can happen.
