The entire time he was lying about the computer in general, claiming certain things meant this or that.
It's obvious he was leading the customer on, there is no way he was being legitimate.. he was probably just frustrated he got caught.

Well that's the thing, he probably didn't know much about computers himself. If you notice, a lot of stuff he was saying sounded like it was rehearsed or from a script. Like I said before, his superiors probably just gave him a little guide on "This means that" or "when this happens, explain this". He never directly lied about something he personally did or had done. All the lies came from stuff that he could have been told to say, if he was following some sort of guide or chart.
Anyone would get frustrated once people would start accusing you of being a scamming asshole, when from your perspective, you're just trying to help.
I'm not saying the COMPANY is innocent but Richard could just be a guy trying to do his job.

Based off of what coolz said, and how defensive and aggravated he got. If he legitimately, as far as he knew, was helping out people with computers problems and that's that, then he would be patient with the customer and try to explain stuff calmly, not be getting so ticked off and aggressive.

Well notice, he got ticked off and aggressive after he started being accused of being a scammer.
He probably got a lot of shit becuase of the companys bad rep, and just couldn't take it anymore.
Supertoaster:
This one is almost as good
"Tech Support" scammer held on line for 75 minutes
The end is the best. The scammer tries to get the other to shut down his comp (like "PRESS ALT - F4 FOR GOD MOD" on CSS

Nah I still disagree, the whole way the guy approached it, obviously leading him on, avoiding questions, it was 100% shady man.
The chance that what you are saying is true.. that he knew absolutely nothing and never suspected a thing is improbable.

Can't believe I watched all of this, but I've gotten a few calls like these about an older system. Let's just say I give most telemarketers and all a lot of shit. Though it would be rather nice to string them along like this.
>That man is one of the most patient people I have seen.
