It's kind of sad, but that's just the society we live in. Children just pick up from what they've learned from the adults around them, so depending on their background and their family life, it's not really a surprise.

Hawaii is in no way racist towards whites. At least, not the vast majority. I just added that in there because for one, whites are a minor here. Because of that, they see a lot more "brown" than "white". Plus that some of those white people are just plain stupid (and make me hate being white) don't help at all when whites are a minor.
This is just what I see though. I don't see hardly any locals being stupid, rude, or obnoxious, and I really admire that about them.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing. Basically, the children COULD just be making those decisions based off of what they live around, and what they hear and are influenced by, but it's also just as likely that they're simply choosing white over black as that's their race, so they're naturally more comfortable with that. I bet you any money, you get a bunch of black children to do that same test, and they will do the exact same just reversed. Because that's what they're used to seeing, and that's who they are. So depending on how you look at it, it could be more or less bad.

Their own race? Most of them were much more black than white.
