Supertoaster knows his GPU stuff well.
Something like a 440 is more than enough if you are using it mostly for Source games.
For Skyrim and BF3 a 460/560 would get you on top of your game. Anything more is just a waste.
Just make sure your power supply is good enough.

Unless he is going to do a lot of overclocking I wouldn't spend the money for it. My Asus 460 overclocks from 700 to 950 easily and keeps fairly low temps.

im actually gonna get the 550 my computer doesnt have enough power for the 460 D: anyone want to suggest a good brand?
