rNd Donation Discussion: Please Respond

Hey guys, I have a proposition I would like some feedback on from the community.

It has been recently suggested, and I have thought about it a bit, to establish rNd donations (via paypal)

The point for this would be: To collect money from people willing to donate, and use the funds collected for end of the year prize raffles and other events.

A few considerations exist so far and are important points of feedback I would like to see if possible.

- Who actually has the ability to donate?
- Who would be willing to donate and for what reason? (a result of no initial incentive)

However, if we were able to get say 4 donations in a year of 5 USD, I would be able to have a prize around 10-15 USD (because of paypal rates) to raffle off at an event or the end of that year.

This would not help pay for the site or servers.
This would not give any privileges (gameplay or website incentives).

Please reply with your point of view and applicable reasoning, thanks a lot! :)

I say go for it and add it, it doesn't cost money to setup so i don't see a downside to adding it.

I've also had a few people in the past who have asked me how to donate so I'm sure theres some people out there that will...

I'm not sure if there would actually be people willing to donate besides the members of our community. Perhaps in a year there would be 20 USD from donations but I doubt it.
   I understand that you say the donators would get no privileges but maybe we could make that people would be able to get a custom title of their choice or something like that.

Although I have the ability to donate I'm not going to do that if my mom won't let me to since the credit card belongs to her and I highly doubt that she will let me because it was hard to convince her to let me buy games from Steam, no way she'll let me donate money on the internet I'm not going to lie her either...

People will not want to donate without getting something in return. That is, most people. I'm sure there are members that we know and love that are willing to donate, but the majority of players that ask on the servers probably do it expecting something in return.

IF we are going to open up donations, and IF they are going to be put back into the community, and IF we are damn certain no one gets a custom anything, nor praise "WOW ______ is so cool donated alots of money he must love rnd lets make him a vip now" (not to say a simple thank you is not earned)...then sure.
