Post by: Goat on November 22, 2011, 06:31:56 PM
Hey all, I was playing GMod when all of a sudden a wild BSoD appears! I restart my computer and think nothing of it but now not a single source game will run. All it does it say the Preparing to launch (source game)...
Here is a video of exactly what it does:

Yea I have a borked steam system either; so I think someone at the Valve bricked the steam interface.

Hint you can always just restart steam, and you'll probably fix it.

If it really stopped working, easiest first fix to do is restart your computer once more. Second fix is to go into Steam and manually click game options, then verify steam integrity of cache for each game. Third solution, System Restore. Fourth solution, remove the games through Steam, then re-download and reinstall. Fifth and final solution, delete Steam, and redownload that and install that first. Then redownload the games.

I didn't have this problem.
I'm wondering why it only happened to a few and not everyone

If it isn't still starting, Exit steam, delete the client.blob thingy on your steam folder and reopen steam, it should be downloading a new client.blob thingy again.
