It doesn't suit the gameplay's point. I'm sure a lot other people hate it too. There aren't any places to hide bodies at, do traitorous stuff, etc.

I'm not that one-sided on the map I really wouldn't care if it was gone or not but it's just way too big and empty.

It's very ugly too, It works fine in the actual game but I don't think its suitable for a source game.  :thumbsup: to this

I liked the map because you can surf on the mountains when you're on top of the castle. And you can jump off the bridge like a maniac.

i like the map, the only downside i can see is it being too big, but i actually like playing the hide & seek game so it isn't a downside for me

Like I've always said for maps like this, there is a reason why it's always played. People like it.
Just be smart, if people tell you to go through a tele, don't.
If you spawn stuck, kill yourslef before round starts.
don't walk in grass
etc

It's a great map it just needs some tweaks:

-fix wall spawn
-fix roof teleport where it damages you
-fix grass

Aka an hour in hammer basically moving wall spawn an inch further from the wall, lowering the roof teleporter, and fixing the grass ( dunno about that, but perhaps hammer will display the issue; I'm guessing that they're several blocks that don't line up together or something)

The thing is that they can't modify it.
I asked Deacon the same thing, and he was telling me that they tried a long time ago, but the file wasn't right or something.
Basically, they can't fix it.

The map was made a LONG time ago, I think 2006. So the only way to edit it is to decompile, which it does not do well according to cable. It would be easier to rebuild the map than to recompile this.

Then just delete the map.
It isn't even good enough to be worth fixing.

I hate this map with a passion.


Turns out there is another glitch on the map that gets people stuck in the teleporter.

One server I played on, dunno if its |NxS| or not, has another version of this where there is a raised platform under the roof teleport that keeps you from falling/getting damaged.

The teleporter to the roof needs to be fixed. You fall to high and get hurt.
One spawn in the water room spawns you in the wall, making you unable to move.
at certain areas, when you walk in the grass, you get stuck. Sometimes you can crouch and get out, other times you can't.

The displacements outside the castle in the grass need refining, because you can get stuck by walking out into that area.

The teleporter on the roof needs to have a small area of water, and maybe a way to force you out of the teleport area, because if someone blocks it, people get stuck in each other.

The spawn points all need a bit of refinement, to make sure they are farther out of the walls.

Until this changes, nothing will happen to the map. I've seen the server be full for that entire map, if people don't like it they should not vote for it.

Maps can be hated and still voted lots of times, just look at zs_infectedhospital.

That does not relate, the voting styes are diffrent. In TTT you can re-vote and you can also see more map names on the screen at once, rather than only being able to vote once and with a very mimited number of map names on-screen at once.

Which is irrelevant to the fact that a hated map can still get voted in.   :P
