There is this small band from north of where I am, the Mathematicians from the Tri-County Region of Upstate New York. The 3 band members play the role of stereotypical nerds [thick glasses, pocket protectors and all], who know how to jam, their band member names being Dewi Decimal, Pete Pythagoras, and Albert Gorithm IV.
In 2006, they did a halloween show I WISH I was there for - saw the one they did at SUNY Purchase the year after, continuing the storyline they established in this one. Basically, they get captured by terrorists, tortured, dismembered, and killed, all while the terrorists take their place at this show and hold the patrons hostage, forcing them to watch the torture and execution.

- Pete gets shocked by jumper cables, hit in the head with a hammer. At one point, Pete escapes, and runs into the audience, is executed in front of the audience - choked do death with a microphone cable.
- Albert gets his fingers chopped off, shot in the head
- Dewi has his Achilles tendon severed, his head hacked off [and shown in front of the camera, blood and crap dripping out on the headless corpse]
Of course, you know, the actual band members were fine - not a scratch. Just checking... :P
