Title: My computer
Post by: blαh2355 on September 04, 2011, 08:21:33 AM
Okay, lately my computer has been lagging really bad. Usually it's fine at first but a few minutes into playing games, it starts lagging really bad like 20 fps and the audio becomes choppy. Even if I exit the game it's still pretty laggy which forces me to restart the computer. After a reboot it's fine and everything is normal and games can be playable. This problem is getting really annoying. Just today, when I went to restart the computer, it was at the "Shutting Down" statement and it wasn't moving. Then the screen went black, started beeping 7 times, and a yellow light flashing. I read the instruction manual and it says that the 7 beeps mean Processor failure, and the yellow light flashing means that there's a problem with the system board. So please, help me :'(

It could just be faulty memory. If you have more than one stick of memory in your computer, try removing 1 stick and boot and see if it boots up. If not, then switch around the memory stick in different slots.

Something is indeed dying.
We must go deeper.

7 beeps mean Processor failure

I dunno, but it sounds like you need a new processor.

Idk, this is fairly a new computer. 9 months old the most.

It could just be faulty memory. If you have more than one stick of memory in your computer, try removing 1 stick and boot and see if it boots up. If not, then switch around the memory stick in different slots.
I'll check that out when I get a chance to open it up.

try uninstalling and re-installing your graphics drivers. Since it's good before the game, there might be something wrong with 3d driver software.

He was talking to foofoo about his 8FPS.

A bad processor won't cause low framerates, just stuttering and generally slow loading/rendering.

Oh guys, I seemed to magically fix itself :L
I cleaned out some dust at a vent on the side the part of the computer. Didn't remember there was a vent there but was really dusty. :P
Thanks for the help anyways.
Lock please.
