Title: deus ex
Post by: Osme on September 01, 2011, 12:29:06 AM
I find it to be quite.... shit.
All it has going for it is the story. Yeah story is very important, but so is gameplay, equally so.
The graphics leave much to be desired. pixels popping in and out, vanishing and reappearing.
The controls are piss-all terrible. Forced to toggle? Really? Not many people like toggling. Give the the option to toggle, good, but to for them? No, not acceptable. And default controls are... Why did they even add them? Sure people like preferences, and will of course change, but that's no excuse for being foolish about it. But really, middle mouse to air, right to cover? Soon enough it will be backspace to fire.
The gameplay is a joke, as far as I have played, combat system is hardly workable, the graphics aren't the result of lack of issue of knowledge or tech, but an issue of work, or lack therefor of.
So far, I am really not liking this game...
Opinions?

EDIT: I threw a can at police and about a dozen men is superman armor raped my dick. And I thought the combine was bad; these guys open fire on their own friends for being slightly obnoxious.

this game is like arma 2... the enemy shoots you 3-5 times and you die

hahahaha

haters be hatin'

the game is not designed for people like you then, so please step away

it's been in devlopment long-term for 11 years now, hence the modest graphics

the controls have no changed since DE1, except for cover

I find this the perfect sequel, it all pieces together perfectly

it is not a game for an idiot, chucking dustbins at a police while using your strength aug? of-course it's going to hurt them and of-course they will attack you and call for backup - especially if you're military augmented

it is also not a game for an impatient person, playing this game takes time and tactics to do it correctly

you could rush through on easy, but it's no-where near as fun

Anyone who played all the metal gear's should be familiar with this gameplay.

Although I would say metal gear has a bit of a more interesting story frame.
Graphics don't necessarily make a game good, take Mario for example.

Im not saying graphics are bad. but there are simple, pretty obvious things that show a lack of effort in making it work well...
Biggest butthurting issue of mine is not giving us ability to use controls that arnt toggle...

This doesn't even warrant a reply.

So you're basically saying that because most controls are toggle, that the game is suck dickbutt? The game offers the chance to disable and customize your controls to your liking. The graphics are like this due to the fact they've been in development for so long, look at Duke Nukem for a perfect example.

All I got out of this 'review' of yours was that you dislike the game because of the controls and it gave you a challenge.

i know the graphics could be liek that because of dev, but again, its something that is a bit overlooked
and where does it allow me to disable toggling? the reason i said "fail" to that is because i didnt have the option to play without toggle
