Title: My brother has no sound
Post by: Deacon on August 08, 2011, 03:18:36 AM
The OH SO SMART tinybabyman torrented a copy of win.7 on our old desktop.
It was in german or some shit, but he figured out enough of the language to get it up and running.
anyway, he has no sound. Everything else runs fine, so i assume its a software problem (correct me if i'm wrong)

Would anyone be able to tell me what I should do to fix this?
Appreciation in advance.

Two words: Audio Drivers

Not just that, there's this thing called thepiratebay.

Why would he torrent it in german?

//If the sound card is integrated into the motherboard, use CPU-Z to get the mobo model number and look up the drivers. Usually it will be on the manufacturer's page.

he did that
he got 7 ultimate, which according to the manufacturer can be changed, but even downloading the language packs haven't worked. so fuck that part.
I will try CPU-Z and get back to you, thank you.

Vista and 7 both install all your drivers automatically.
But still, it couldn't hurt to install it again.

I aint a big fan of Driver finding software.
But if he cannot find the drivers.
I would recommend Slim-Drivers.
It works quite well.

I tried cakes option but apparently intel doesn't remember making this mobo for sony.
No drivers.

be back with peetahs suggestion in a few

Now, would another torrent of windows 7 install the correct drivers or would that be worth it? remember it is in another language so that would help as well right? as a last-ditch effort?

Perhaps maybe a new torrent? Maybe this one didn't come with drivers.
