Title: gmod server help

OK i have been trying to make a gmod server. (Don't know what gamemode to use suggestions please?)
anyway i tryed installing sourcemod but everytime my friends tried to join the server would crash is there a file I'm missing or
am i doing something wrong?

delete it all and use srcds nongraphical mode
oh and use google?
and follow the instructions by the letter and why sourcemod?
just use any admin plugin and youre off the hook?
