And I was about to say that no one made a 9/11 thread so far.
I mean, it's sad and all that of course, but seriously.
3,000 people died.
In the Tsunami that hit the Asian Coast 2004, 300,000 people died and no one even remembers it anymore today.

I think the problem was that it was natural, I guess. This is sad because we could have stopped it, but we didn't. It's also sad that our fellow man would do something like this. Everyone stereotypes Muslims because of this. Now we have a freaking war.

What I don't get,

more people get sorrow over the 3,000 that died in 9/11.

31,929 died in Iraq alone.

And we care about 9/11 more?

America brought it upon it's self, with their fucking foreign polices, and tendency with being the worlds police. Bound to happen sometimes.

Also, sorry Yomo, but what about the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki drops by USA in 1945, killing a fuckload of more people the 9/11.

So, I don't give a fuck about 9/11. Inb4sum1ragesbecidgafbout9/11.

Its more of the morale of the story of 9/11 than anything else. But i won't tell it sense it is to long to post. over 9000 fucking words of why 9/11 is so important.

Yeah, butttt I think Japan brought that upon themselves too. Murdering millions of chinese, philipinos, koreans. They killed more people than the amount of japanese civilians killed in the bombings. Hell, the japanese even had competitions to see how many chinese people they could behead in a given time. they fucking deserved to be bombed. And what about Pearl Harbor? America was neutral at the time.
And according to my Grandfather (who was in World War II fighting against the Japanese) They even cut open stomachs of pregnant women, and shot the fetus for good measure. LIKE WTF IS THAT?
Title: Re: Never Forget
Post by: Don on September 12, 2010, 04:33:13 AM
Cheesicle, Pearl Harbour was a 100% provoked attack.
USA moved all its troops right at the border of Japanese territory in the pacific, which almost forced them to attack somehow.
And what they did on Pearl Harbour was just ASKING for a huge attack. Who would just leave all its defences locked somewhere without having the key for it and station half a dozen soldiers on it when the whole damn world is at war?
Pearl Harbour was, after all, the reason the USA joined World War II, it wasn't that much of a surprise for them.

Butttt what about the Japanese invasion of China? Explain how Japan was justified in that, please.

All right faggots, you disrespectful asshats have pushed me over the edge.

Just because more people died for one thing, doesn't make the other think any less important.

Fucking millions of stupid bitches died in WWI but that doesn't make the ~3000 of 9/11 any less important.

And about your fucking tsunami. What does it symbolize? Nothing. It symbolizes nature saying "Well holy shit your houses and shit look unstable so ima blow em down". 9/11 was significant in the regard that its the first time we have been attacked on home soil in like hundreds of years (not counting hawaii)

Give those people their reverence. Just because you don't think they are "worthy" of being remembered doesn't mean you should fucking disrespect them like this. GTFO.

Also, if anyone "umad"s this, I will fucking mute them for as long as I possibly can.

Its sad how humanity never PREVENTS things from happening; They always let a disaster happen before fixing it to prevent it from happening again. For example:

Hurricane Katrina and the Levy Failures
9/11
Global Warming

RIP

And any of you disrespectful dipshits better stay the fuck away from this thread.

Well before I say what I need to say, let me state I have just as much respect for those who died in 9/11 as the next guy. I say this so someone doesn't go all apeshit on me for thinking I hate the USA and whatever.

Anyways, you really need to chill the fuck out man. Nobody here has "disrespected" 9/11, but instead said WHY it happened, or just stated other tragedies should be weighed just as high, if not more. Not only that, but if someone does decide to disrespect it, that's their opinion and they definitely should be allowed to express it. I mean really now, not to be rude/offensive, but think about it; do you even know anyone close who died in the attacks? Probably not. Did the attacks directly effect you? Probably not.

I mean really man, think about it. Earlier in this thread you tried to justify the nukes dropped on Japan by saying the Japanese provoked it and deserved it and whatnot, but it wasn't the 150,000-250,000 civilians that died that "provoked" the attacks.

TL;DR Before you start acting like someone speaking about 9/11 in any way you don't want them to because for some reason you feel you were somehow personally effected by the 9/11 attacks to the point you need to defend it on the internet, get your shit straight and look at your logic first.

I thought it was called the falling man?

Anyway, the videos showing close ups of people jumping are horrifying. I saw one where a man working above the impact points tried climbing down the towers, of course to no avail, only to slip and fall to his death.

I can't believe I made this post a year ago. Haha, tried to put as many "fucks" in here as possible. It was probably because I was on /b/ at that time.

Still really, I think 9/11 is over dramatized.

It's also a HUGE source of blind patriotism.

It was horrible that 2 thousand people died, but really we don't need it to be shoved down our throats every year.

It also caused a useless war.

Brits, do you have any national remembrances, memorials, etc. on national television for the 6/6 bombings?
Title: Re: Never Forget
Post by: Cheesicle on September 11, 2011, 05:26:18 AM
I don't think they had a choice at all...

Those above the impact zones had no chance. All elevators and stairs were destroyed in Tower 1, meaning 100% of those trapped above the impact died. Tower 2 only had 1 stair, so well over 80 or 90% of the people there died.

They really had only 3 choices - All which would have resulted in their deaths. Suffocate from the fumes, get crushed from the collapsed building, or jump - quick and painless. Of course many chose the latter. Some, like Mr. Kevin Cosgrove stayed until the towers collapsed. His last phone call was recorded and put on Youtube, allowing millions of people to hear him die. His last words were "Oh God! Oh-" before the call disconnected as Tower 2 fell.

Shit's really fucked up.

Kevin Cosgrove an ordinary man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PICPW-V16KY&feature=related#)

Hearing a man die is traumatizing.

Tbh, I agree with that. I don't really want to go into explanation on it because A) this is the internet, I can't expect shit to be taken seriously and to have an actual discussion where at no point is there stupid trolling or just plain stupid comments or w.e, and B) it's just not worth it. (And for everyone that's going to say wowowow there are worse tragedies than 9/11 more people died for same reasons blah blah, I'm not saying that's wrong, but why make peoples' DEATHS into a competition? It doesn't mean that 9/11 was any less tragic...)

And Cheesicle, I seriously don't see why you -1'd Tiger's post. He just said that there's a lot of blind patriotism on the subject, which really is true. This si something we went over in class.
Instead of the usual where people would run away, they had never gone through somehting like this. They couldn't really process what was happening, so they kept walking towards the scene without even thinking it might fall.
