and i'm thinking of getting this

opinions
i'm ASSUMING this is better than my stock ATI 5670

Get an extra $17 and get this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102941 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102941)
Its a 6770, and will give you in some cases double the performance of the 6670
In a lot of cases the difference between the 6670 and the 6770, is 20 FPS to 32 FPS, so it can make the difference between choppy and smooth playback.
-
If you can spare an extra 20 dollars then get this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130625 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130625)
You will not regret
shit tonnes more powerful than the 5670
-
I'd recommend the 6770 or the GTX 550 too but if it's too steep on price for you get the 5770 (which is basically the same card) but it's older. Louder, Hotter, requires more powerful power supply.
If you can crossfire get another 5670 and crossfire it with your current 5670. It did better then the $150 GTX 450 I just got.
http://www.fudzilla.com/images/stories/Reviews/Graphics/Nvidia/Fermi/460/460_vs_5670_CrossFireX/avp.jpg (http://www.fudzilla.com/images/stories/Reviews/Graphics/Nvidia/Fermi/460/460_vs_5670_CrossFireX/avp.jpg)
If you can't crossfire it then save $10 and get the 5770.
EDIT: I added up tax & shipping for you for the 5770 which brings it to the grand total of $124.05
ALSO, If you're going to crossfire the 5670 you need to make sure your current 5670 is crossfire ready (don't know how) and the one you buy has to be one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102870&cm_re=5670-_-14-102-870-_-Product (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102870&cm_re=5670-_-14-102-870-_-Product)

Core clocks dont matter on a vid card.
So doesnt on a Cpu.
To many factors to account now.

Both cards are very good.
Much better the what you would have normally bought.
Just choose between which ever brand.

I redact my previous statement,
For gaming purposes this will actually give you the best bang for your buck.

Yes I am aware its a 200 series (its a revision 2 so it's not really a 200 series)
It's cheaper, and in some cases it performs better than both the 6770, ti550.
So if you only have $100 go with that 260, if you have a little more
go with,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130591 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130591) (this 460 is slightly better and cheaper than the 6790)
or

The second one looks best since it has a mail-in to drop it to $99
I can probably convince my parents to let me borrow some to get it, then pay back
and nvidia cards don't dick up measurement fonts in hammer so much :/

I seem to have gathered 100 dollars of disposable income as well

Wow, what the hell? My 460 cost 10x as much yet the cheaper 260 did better and its cheaper? That makes no sense. Anyway.
260 seems like the best for you or 550
-
Depends on the situation, sometimes the 460 is faster, sometimes it is slower.
I have the feeling it was the same case as the 8800 GTS 512MB I had before.
They had the product ready to go, however the rest of the 9000 series wasn't ready to be released, so instead they released it as a new revision of an existing 8000 series card, when in reality it was really a 9000 series card.
Nvidia Probably would have released this revision as a 400 series however, timing and the lack of a retail version of the 300 series mandated it come out with the 200 series.

use that money and get 2 ati radeon HD 4870!
