Title: i have a reasonable question!
Post by: Gilgamesh on June 10, 2011, 03:30:04 PM
Why was this http://forum.randomgs.com/index.php/topic,6452.0.html (http://forum.randomgs.com/index.php/topic,6452.0.html) moved? I was just wondering because, it's not like i broke any rules and if i did please tell me what i did break so i can avoid doing that in the future. I was just posting that i had a server for Terraria which i just bought like 20 minutes ago. Please try not to be offensive in your reply. im not trying to be a prude i was just asking an honest question.

Too much information that tells us it has warez?

this is a community that revolves around cracked gmod, why would we not allow people to even talk about cracked games?

jussayin

if he was posting links to warez, that would be understandable

i just want someone to clarify for me what does and does not qualify as illegal when talking about stuff like this

Seems like you'd like to see rANdOm shut down.

Oh forgive my derp. Well, it'd be shut down because of having illegal stuff in it. It'd be because the staff doesn't remove such talks. It's not like they're talking about piracy, they're actually sharing it.

I asked why we remove threads that TALK ABOUT warez, not threads that SHARE them.

I'm beginning to think you didn't fully read the question, but it's irrelevant anyway.

Because it'd be against the rules and policies or w/e, and coolz doesn't want to get in trouble?

Idk, I don't really know much about shit but coolz has explained something similar multiple times.

He said in the thread that he had a cracked server and was advertising it. That is sharing.

It's not sharing cracked software though. It's not the same as say, if he posted a link to a cracked client.

Like I said though, it doesn't really matter. I was mostly curious.

Just for the shits and giggles, let's go against the OP's wishes and argue more.

END OF DISCUSSION!

The discussion isn't ending - it continues in the original thread.

The discussion of content, where to get it, etc. violates policies of licenses associated to the content.

In almost every situation even modification is prohibited.

As you know there are already forums for this type of discussion.

If you feel nice enough you can redirect them through PM but please do not post links

To have any censorship whatsoever is extremely disappointing to me however this is how it needs to be for things to continue.
