I meant, Guests, please don't take this personel.

Why are there so many errors...When I was making it, nothing was wrong. Some things are cut out, sorry guys

I think you misunderstood.

IF coolz said he would lock down the servers for a event, It'd most likely be something like the christmas event, and would only last a few minutes to an hour.

Not for like a week.

When did I ever say for like a week? It would only be for about 30mins to 2 hours...O_o

Also a couple of people have agreed that it would be fun to have an event to start off Summer break, since a lot of members who don't get on very often (due to school) can come and play with us, and this is the poll to vote on whether or not we should have it. I think I had a brain fart and forgot to add the "No, we should not have a event at all" choice...Sorry

You should read the thread that OP is referring to and which I am too lazy to link to you.

I think we should just go ahead and schedule a time and day, then get into specifics of what will be added to the servers (with coolz's permission obviously). By this I mean something like what me and gamefreak discussed in that thread.

No, one of the reason which makes rNd so popualar is becuase we don't treat guest like crap and say "no you can't join now" we treat everyone equally regardless of being a guest+ or not.

Please read the other thread to find out more about it...As for the server and location I really don't know, i'm just a lowly Reg who came up with the idea of a summer break event  :'(

Hmm, I can see where you are going with that. That is one of the reasons why I had asked you guys to post in the old thread before I made this one...Not your fault though, probably busy at the time.

Truthfully, I just wanted to bring up the topic of an event, and the other people suggested it, since it was the only suggestion, I had no other choice then to go with it.

Also is it possible to put up another server just for the event? Or does that cost money or something O_o, like, keep the other servers up for the other people and put another one up for the event. Last thing I want to do is strip the guests of their fun time in rNd

Yea, and I agree, but taking one or two hours from one day, just so that the community can have a good time isn't treating the guests like crap...
Hell, I'm sure we can even leave the event up for an extra hour or two for guests to join as well, which I forgot to mention int he other thread... but ya...

I mean... the server can only hold so many people anyways, and the only reason I suggested it be locked with a password is so that all of the community members that want to join can get a chance to. Otherwise the server would be full...

But, at the same time, I don't necessarily think we HAVE to have only Reg+ on the server. I just want the community members to have a day to play together and have fun.
We could just announce the password on the forums, and anyone who is active on the forums will be able to join.
But the problem with that again, is people then spreading word too much, and telling any friends and then ultimately having the server full.
I don't think that should really be that big of a problem though.

Maybe we should make a poll to see if majority wants the server to be Reg+ only (anyone who's in the rANdOm Steam group), or to have forum members able to access the server.

But having the password posted on the forums seems like the best option so everyone in the community can join. Yea, I agree, sometimes I just refer to Regs+ or anything with rank as community because it's simply easier to explain lol.

I won't exactly password the servers, I will disable ability to join to non Regular+ ranking members for a few hours.

I can boost the player slot count for select servers temporarily for the time period.

I'll try to be as involved as possible for as long as possible in the servers.

I might tweak elements of game-play temporarily.. etc. ;)

That still leaves the problem of the Guests feeling left out and them feeling bad :/

That's not really a problem though.
If necessary, we could allow for everyone to join in the event after 2 hours or so, and then have the event removed in another hour or two.

This is time to honor commitment to existing and participating members of the community.

I do not see any negative effects from this event and I fully support any creative events within the community. :)
