Title: Need help
Post by: Dark Byte on June 04, 2011, 07:24:47 PM
Umm, I wanted to know this but why are the water textures in Gm_Owatacoast_edit_03 all white? This is in Wirebuild. But seriously what am i missing? I have Hl2. Someone told me i should re-download the map. Others say to get Hl2 Episode 2. I mean i don't know.

Could someone help me out here? Is there anyway to fix this? Because i am the only one in the server experiencing this problem. Also its really annoying when i am building, and my stuff falls in the water. Then i can't even find it.

The water is in the source materials.gcf

Be sure to verify your game and whatever else you have like hl2 or css

If that doesn't help, maybe try lowering your directX level.

To do this, right click on the game in steam and go to the properties menu.

Click on the Set Launch Options button and add -dxlevel81

Click OK and try to run the map now.

I tried all of that and it didn't work, The water stays white. I verified CSS, Hl2, and everything else. As a matter of fact my Dxlevel was 80 when i took that screenshot. My only guess would be to re-install the map. I was probably given the wrong version. As i had a thread on here saying i needed the map. So then someone posted the link and i downloaded it.

If you can help, and give me the latest version of this map. That would help alot.

I Recomend DX 9, Might Be A Problem With DX 8 Not Being Able To Do The Water Tesselatons (Cant Spell...) That Were Programmed For DX 9

Key:

DX = DirectX

Why Did I Put My House Key Here?
