Title: What Get?
Post by: Sabb on May 13, 2011, 10:25:50 AM: I've been thinking of getting a new pet, and came down to a few options:

guinea pig
hedgehog
hamster
mice
gerbil

Also looked into a micro pig, decided there wouldn't be enough space and such for one.
Currently, I believe we'll be getting a guinea pig, though I reary want a hedgehog :L.

Yes I know, but it still won't convince my mom cause she's had guinea pigs before and such and a hedgehog is an exotic animal, so it's going to be different, but I have looked up about it and shit.
Also:
$200 - hedgehog
$10 - guinea pig
average 12 year life span - guinea pig
average 3 year life span - hedgehog
hedgehogs also cost a lot more to simply feed and take care of.
So by now I'm certain we'll be getting a guinea pig.

Back when we still had some, we let them run around the house for about 2 hours, and our dogs spent about 3 days finding and eating the poo ._.

I will be getting a guinea pig, because a hedgehog is much harder too take care of, and a LOT more expensive. (even just for feeding and heating)
This also wans't completely my decision either, but I'm definitely happy to be getting a guinea pig none the less.
