But you didn't directly link that to your profile, as in he doesn't know who bought GMod by name per-se, though I agree that your Facebook profile being set to private makes a bit of this mot.

It's not like we can say "WE DON'T LIKE THIS" and stop giving garry money.

I'd like to comment. And if I were to set my profile to public, I'm sure that would screw some shit up with my profile and other friends.

Even then I didn't see what was wrong in the first place with disquis. Sure you had people trolling, but most of the time it's someone uploading a shitty map/background/swep to get flammed upon.

And on-top of that, there were some actual useful comments that contained bug-fixes to certain addons that got deleted.

"only friends can view my profile" or "only friends of friends can view my profile" in other words if the person really has no reason to know how the hell you are then it will say "private"
