So Im leaving the class and he comes to me.
Prof: Hey Peter, I remember you. May I ask, do you go to Tim Hortons a lot?
Me: Sure sir I'm Canadian.
Prof: Haha, well remember when you helped me get my car out of that snow last winter? Well here, take this and get yourself a donut.
Me: Wow thanks sir, this means a a lot. :3
Then he hands me this roll up the rim prize. LOL
If I could send this through the internets I would. Dam Tim Hortons tastes goood.

People tend to use that term when speaking to someone they respect.
Also, Timmies is fkin awesome. Just thought I'd put that out there.
And Franklin, I don't understand what you're confused on.
Peetah's prof. won a doughnut from a "Roll up the Rim" cup from Tim Horton's and gave it to Peetah.
If you don't know what Roll up the Rim to win is, or Tim Horton's, then it's time to pull up Google.

That's mainly because of the age group?
I wasn't implying that teenagers go around calling their teachers "sir".

Heh, I don't think it's common anymore.
When you went to high school that had to be just over 20 years ago right? a couple of years ago.
I'm sure most younger society acts a lot different now at say age 14 - 19 than they did a couple years ago years ago.
I think most people in that age group now act a lot more juvenile and indiscipline.
Or the area you live in act much different than most.

Okay so only a couple years ago.
I'm sure that there's still been change by then, or the area he lives in acts a lot differently.

At my school (which is french) we call our teachers monsieur or madame (sir or miss). It's very common, and you call them by their last name. Let's say the name of you of your teachers is Robert Jones, well you would call him mister Jones and whatnot.
Also, I won a free Tim Horton coffee last year. Two for one :3
