Most top 40 songs this day are handpicked and are full of autotune. Autotune takes a lot of talent out of music.

._.

Just because they use auto tune, doesn't mean they can't sing.

It's like Dubstep without its WUWBUWBUWBUWBUWBUWBUWUBWUBWBUWBUWBUWBU.

I'm not into dubstep so don't think I do.

If they could sing, then why use autotune in the first place?

It was a style, believe it or not.
Now it's just a part of pop.

Plenty of Pop artists don't use autotune, and most of the ones who use it can sing without it.

Except for the fact that 99% of top 40 pop artists use it. It's okay if you use a little autotune for effect, but it's annoying if you use it because you can't sing. Rap is this way too.

It's just the style. It has nothing to do with talent.

Theres plenty of other genre's that have great vocals without the use of technology, but the fact is, it's just a staple of modern Pop.

Some people manage to pull it off and use it right, others can't.

Well then, the 'style' sucks.

One example of someone who can sing without autotune is Rhianna.

(With Autotune)
Rhianna - Disturbia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apN0Zo1fvcU#)

(without Autotune)
Rihanna - Please Don't Stop The Music (LYRICS) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6e6wE8UnJJs#)

That

I hate rappers who use autotune such as *cough* Lil Wayne *cough*

This is why I appreciate older rappers such as Tupac, and so on.. I mean you can use autotune for one of your songs, but not for every single one you make, such as *cough* Lil Wayne *cough*

They made such a big deal when T-Pain was gonna preform live without autotune.

Wasn't that bad.

Speaking of newer Rap (Although this is more like hip-hop)

Diddy - Dirty Money - Coming Home ft. Skylar Grey (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-ImCpNqbJw#ws)

Yeah. Lil Wayne live is like listening to a duck quack repeatably for 3 minutes.

No offense to anyone here, but if you live in the USA and you don't enjoy mainstream music, you most likely don't enjoy parties and fit in with other kids ._.

Though yes, most rappers now days suck gigantic balls.

And autotuning really does take the talent out of everything.

But if you think about it, if rapping legends like 2Pac, Biggie, and Eazy were still alive, they would have either:
A) Died out from popularity
B) Succumbed to autotuning
C) Rapped for girly pop songs like Snoop in California Gurls.

OnTopic: Old remixes, but still good. My personal favorites are at a tie between 2009 and 2008. 2010 was the worst, but if DJ Earworm had kept the entire song like the beginning, it would have been better.
