Title: Friendlies Have Been Hit.
Post by: Foofoojack on April 04, 2011, 03:48:51 PM
A chick that we bought yesterday at Wilco died today between 12 and 3:30PM.
I don't get how?
My mom said that when she was at home for lunch they were all just fine.
Now I get home from school and it's dead?
How did it die?
Please ask questions.

It hasn't even been under the sun at all, just a red heat lamp meant for baby chicks.
..And what did you do with the body?

Wrapped it up.

You didn't had an incubator.

Lucky I live in a rural area, so my dad can just keep the chickens outside and we don't have to fool with an incubator.

Yeah, but you had a CHICK. Chicks still need warmth. You might not need a incubator, but you still need to put in a area with light and warmth.

It's plenty warm in the kennel, as there's a very hot light keeping them warm.
Wouldn't all of the other chicks died by now if it was too cold?

Eh, some chicks still die if they have warmth, food, and lights. It might of been a unlucky chick.

Could've been that it was lonely since chicks need their mother.

Or your mom just ate it.

I was going to make a useless post...

But then I decided to make an even more useless post talking about my would-have-been useless post.

On-Topic: Maybe that one chick out of the bunch just was malnourished because the others ate all the food? Or do you feed them all individually?

OMG This reminds of this one time... It was so sad. We found a bird who broke it's leg, at it was all bleeding. We cared for it, put it in a cage, then a few days later it fell out of it's cage and broke both it's legs. I felt so bad, I wanted it just end it out of its misery, and the next day, after hours of agonizing pain, it finally died. :( We buried it under a tree in our backyard :'(

Don't get too upset about it ...
Chicks pretty much die as soon as something changes for them.
Look at them the wrong way - dead
Don't look at them the wrong way - dead
Look at them - dead
Don't look at them - dead
Give it warmth - dead
Don't give it warmth - dead
Love it - dead
Hate it - dead

... You get my point.

Don sees I'm making fun of his post - dead

...You get my point.
