Feh, probably not nearly as good quality wise as those made by companies like Calmacil.

I know people who use these not just for those kinds of RPGs, but for more serious stagecraft and staged combat.  When it comes to latex weapons, they can tell good from shit.

it is a quality latex weapon for LARP and other action play
Hard rubber handle and real suede wrapping for balance and firm grip
Tough layered foam, high quality latex and special non-cracking paint
Police-grade Kevlar tip guarantees a non-tearing thrust
Lightweight, but can withstand excessive pounds of stress

Your arguments are invalid :)

Not all latex weapons are the same - this I can say for a fact from experience, and from talking to people who make their own.  The processes, quality of the latex [and other materials used - resins, paints, etc], the quality of the construction, etc, varies.

Without any definition, "high quality" is just arbitrary and meaningless.   An analogy: its like those guys who sell "metal" DDR pads that include what they call "touch sensitive technology" - a meaningless term used to cover that they use the same crappy tech - that is nothing more than sheet metal and a poorly made contact with even crappeir quality copper wiring - that other manufacturers that aren't MyMyBox or Cobalt Flux use.

Don't do it, it's a tarp.
I have a dagger the size of my arm that is almost $200, and that sword that is uber big is only $150.
Clearly a plastic piece of tarp.

$200 Dagger:

To help you understand how big it is:

In comparison to that sword, it's about 1/3 the size. The sword in that link is longer than the one on the wall there, but not by much.
The dagger is also sharpened, but not by much. The dagger also doesn't really have anything special on it, just has a somewhat unique sharp prong type of thing in the center of it. Isn't really rare.

In other words, it's a shitty sword in that link.

Sorry for shit quality pictures again, was taken from phone again.

IMO this is not the best indicator of quality - price, that is.  For example, Calmacil - who is known for good [and often EXPENSIVE] latex weapons: their price ranges are rather - for a lack of better words - dynamic.   For example, a lot of their daggers are anywhere from $50 - $75.  My friend has a katana from them - cost him nearly $250 when he got it about 3 yrs ago.  One of their claymores [at 48" long] comes to $195 USD, which is more than the sword that spurred this topic, but just a bit cheaper than your dagger.

And on the other side of things, we have unknown brand names, whose stuff pops up on e-bay [like this] (http://cgi.ebay.com/MEDIEVAL-KNIGHT-Templar-Crusader-29-SWORD-Latex-LARP-/300446270426?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f3fe43da) <---- that, I can say from experience is a piece of crap durability wise..

True, but most often when it comes to swords and such, it's a lower price because of either the quality of the metal, how sharp it is, or the material in the handle.
Usually the handle has the most detail, and has a larger impact on the price.
I'm not an expert or anything of course, that's just what I've noticed.

The amount of detail really does seem to impact the price - though I gotta wonder, for a lack of better comparison, if companies can rabbit fur fedoras [think Indiana Jones style] in a factory  - in such a way where price is reduced and the quality is preserved - durability and detail wise - as opposed to a hand-made hat, why can't the same be done with latex weapons?  I know a hat =/= a latex sword, but it seems like if more of the previously hand-done processes can be turned over to machines, which generally //seems// to have the effect of reducing the cost of producing something, why not take advantage of it?  Maybe then it will stop all those Euro-douches [European RPers] from being all high and mighty since they can somehow afford to equip all their players with latex.   :P
