Since it has a silvery gold color, my best guess would be cesium.

Swallowing a chunk of sodium would probably hurt more as it would fester and burn before exploding. The cesium reaction with water is so violent it tends to not react all of the cesium with the target. Since a good portion of the Cesium gets blown away before it can react.

Aka, Sodium gives you more boom.

However, your mouth is a closed area. Wouldn't that keep the cesium in the same area and result in a bigger boom?

You might lose your jaw with cesium, but with sodium there is a small delay before it explodes in general, so it has a better chance to go farther before it explodes.

At any rate, don't ever swallow any Alkali metal, you will die in a horrible way no matter what one you take.
