Title: Root Canal?

So my dentist informs me that one of my teeth has an absence under it from an infection caused by trauma (Ex. A Dodgeball to the face) and will cause future complications unless if I get a root canal.

Root canals are said by some to be extremely painful, while others say you cant even feel it. I dont know who to believe so I ask you;

To the people who have had a root canal, is it painful?

I never had this done because I never got hit with anything nor do I own my teeth with sugar (although I grind my teeth at night pretty fucking bad without my knowledge - I was told by the person I'm sleeping with)

Although my friend did! and mannn he was baked like there was no tomorrow man. Well, he looked retarded because half of his face is pretty much blown up like a fucking balloon, and man he was like... baked - they injected him with morphine I think LOL!! idk though... Cuz his was pretty fucking bad - as in.. I don't know - his shit was like destroyed so they really had to go in there and fix it..

But pretty much he couldn't eat afterwards - he was quite miserable for awhile. He's high as a kite though - he wasn't himself and he felt like everyone was his .. "best friend" constantly telling everyone he loves them and he'll do anything for them. Called another guy by the name of "baby" and asked him to go lie down on the couch with him.

I don't know but good luck for you man.

If he's well, not a fucking ninja, ask for gas.

No, It Is Painfree. As Long As Your Dentist Gives You A Strong Enough Injection, Then It Will Be Fine. If You Feel Any Pain At all, Even If You Can Feel Them Drilling Away Dead Slightly Tell Them, They Will Stop And Give You More Injections. Your Jaw Will Hurt In The Morning As It Is A 45-50 Minute Filling And Your Tooth Will Turn To A White Colour Then A Bit Blue - Meaning That The Nerve Is Dead

I had to take out a tooth awhile back.
Why not cause of free healthcare in canada and shit lol.
Its very intense during it. And the injection get really uncomfortable after.
Get it over with.

Root Canal is a bit different though, it's actually to kill the nerve or something like that.
During the operating it should be a little painful, but they do give you plenty pain killers to numb it, it might be a bit painful afterward though, but I'm sure they'll give you medication for that too.

There going to freeze your mouth before they do anything... after they do that ask for an extra shot to get it double frozen...

I know for myself the shots don't work that well on me they have to use like 5-6 shots just to do a normal freeze.

And that is why some people find it painful while other don't because of the different reactions people have to the freezing stuff. Don't be afraid to ask for more Lol

Ya, just had root canal. No pain, zero, just an annoying buzzing sound of the drill.

Now, if anyone tells you that a root canal hurts like shit, tell them they are bullshitting. The only point where it hurt even slightly, was the needle for the morphine/whateverthefucktheyuse

I had two, one on the top left, and one on the bottom right.
They already gave me 5 injections, and still was able to feel it, at which point, they gave me gas.

The reason why I needed a root canal wasnt because of my carelessness, but because of genes. The same tooth on my left had a bump made of bone when I visited the doctor, whereas my teeth that needed the procedure didnt so therefore, when I was born, both of the teeth had a little bump on the crown made of bone.

The doctor believes that since I chewed on one side more, the teeth with the bump on the dominant side would be more subject to wear and tear, until the bump was worn away, exposing the nerve. Then saliva got into the nerve line into the roots and caused an infection.

And no, I didnt need gas.
