So right now, people are unreasonably hyped for a possible L4D3 announcement on Sunday (https://www.reddit.com/r/HalfLife/comments/4qu51n/l4d3_my_guess_is_that_itll_be_revealed_on_sunday/). I think that's highly unlikely, knowing Valve. I would actually expect them to announce L4D2 ported onto Source 2, but not necessarily this Sunday, just sometime in the near future.
Thoughts?

An extremely unrealistic idea that I had in the back of my mind was not Left 4 Dead 3, but Orange Box 3. With the Orange Box 3, they'd be skipping number 2 and be releasing 3 core games inside the package
- Left 4 Dead 3
- Portal 3
- Half Life 3
All three roughly take place in the same type of world and has been confirmed by developers in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if this actually becomes a possibility.
In terms of the Left 4 Dead series, I think L4D3 is a definite possibility, mainly because they did the same thing with L4D1 and 2. The maps were ported to L4D2 from 1, along with player models and everything, which made everybody hyped.

Same here. I have always thought it would be a possibility for them to release a bunch of games in a bundle like that, and it would explain the long wait. Small possibility, but a possibility nonetheless.

Not gonna happen.
It's going to be like every other Valve thing where nothing happens.
HL3/L4D3 etc, won't happen until Valve says something like "Big news at Event X" or something of the sort.

That's what I'm saying. I really doubt any '3' will be announced, but there *have* been several valve employees lately playing L4D2, and it would make sense if they were finalizing the source 2 port.

Nothing happened.

this means portal 3 tbh

Nothing happened.
Exactly. I was never saying things would happen on Sunday. I was trying to say that I feel like a l4d2 source 2 port is nearing completion, because of how many employees have been playing it recently.
