Title: Do you ever speed?
Post by: Prox on October 26, 2014, 11:03:10 AM
To those of you who get to drive cars and have a license: do you ever exceed the speed limit?
I do but only by 10-20km/h usually (30-40km/h if I were to compare it with the speed limit set for new drivers in my country). I always feel the urge to go faster but I'm afraid to lose my license. I guess I should worry about this because I can feel speeding growing into me, it's so addictive. What about you guys?

Going fast is fun, but where I live it can get you killed quite easily because there are so many people and not much free driving space unless you go to a track or something.

Everyone here usually speeds 10 miles over, but you're not likely to get a ticket because everyone else is doing it, and slowing around the cops, etc. lol

It's pretty much the same in my country, most people go 10 miles over although there's quite a lot of people going over 20 (new SUVs drivers in particular), however no one really does this in urban areas.

I usually go about 5mph higher than the posted speed limit. Honestly for most roads I think 40mph is safe rather than like 30 :v

My truck barely exceeds the 45mph speed limit on roads. On a freeway, I rarely ever get it past 55 or 60.

I was going down a completely empty, straight, flat road out in the middle of East Texas.

Set a new record for me at 102 mph.

Texan country roads are very long, open, and usually straight.  Usually 75 is the limit, and I often go 85 or so.  I have hit 105 a couple of times when I pass big 18-wheelers.   Never have driven faster though, it's scary 100+
