You start in the early 80s as a game developer working out of a garage. The main point of the game is to develop games for profit and to advance your company and make it known.
You can hire employees, manage the main developmental areas of your game, develop for different platforms (newer and more advanced platforms become available later on), join game conferences, develop game engnies, and so on.
It's on sale right now for $8 - I highly recommend you buy it :)
