It looks pretty cool. You can literally sculpt your Sims as if they were made of clay.

The tools overhaul looks reary gude. Hopefully that also applies to their engine so less lagzzzz in fastfoward and such.
More persistent emotional states are kewl too, and new content.
I don't think it's enough to say whether or not it feels like a new game.

So far it doesn't look too impressive. Looks like a comics-style version of Sims 3 (which I don't like) with a couple of nice add-ons.

Honestly the design of the sims remind me a lot of the Sims 2, which I really loved and missed in the Sims 3. So far I am actually decently impressed, hopefully it'll be like a Sims 2/3 mashup. That would be the perfect Sims game.

Okay so yay time to get angry. So the fact that this game took out free neighborhood roaming doesn't make me mad, I actually like that. No, what makes me angry is the fact they removed the fucking toddler life stage, pools, the availability to drive cars, etc. Like what in fucks name is that. That is probably the biggest step backwards for any game series I have ever seen in my life. Now most of you guys are like "I don't see why this is a big deal" it's a big deal because they removed important shit like that (Pools btw have been in the Sims since the very first series back in 2000, and you're going to sit there and tell me they can't manage to put it into this game?) for what? A cupcake maker? Uh what the actual fuck. This makes me kinda seriously furious. And here I thought EA might've been kinda redeeming themselves, and they just totally shit all over it.
I'll be enjoying my Sims 2 games. Let me know when the fucking expansions that cost $50 each come out that involve the little shit like that so I can pirate this. Fuck you EA, fuck you.

So EA has kinda redeemed themselves in a sense. They've added pools and ghosts back to the game as updates, and not expansions. This has pleased my rage and I am now okay with getting the game.
