Subscription based software has been around for ages, this makes it sound like the application world is doomed.

They keep releasing new 600 USD professional versions anyhow. And those professionals would purchase the newest version anyways, while students and private users end up torrenting.
Unless I'm batshit crazy and have no idea what I'm talking about. Which is likely.
But 30 USD a month is a plenty fair price for any commercial use. Its a pretty quality product.

Well I think it's kinda unnecessary to be forced to purchase a subscription for people who use photoshop in their leisure time. Even though it has been around for ages, once big companies find out that Adobe is using subscription based software, what's to stop them from doing the same?
